Spanish is my favorite language. If you're taking it because of a school requirement, my goal is to help you see that you CAN do this! If you're seeking to improve your skills for fun, come join me in a common love for this beautiful language! I care for each student individually. I show a lot of patience and am willing to work to see you succeed. When it comes to writing, I love good Spanish grammar and will emphasize that in my teaching. The most important thing to me is to help you speak naturally so that you don't sound like a text book.
Tutoring Strategy + Credentials
I typically like to see what a student is working on in school or what their biggest need is. We review the topic they need help with and either use practice from their book or examples that I come up with from my own material. Depending on the level of student and what they are looking for, I will speak, read, write with and provide listening activities for the student. Immersion is the best teacher! I majored in Spanish in college, but I truly became fluent during my travels to Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Honduras and Puerto Rico which all together equal about one year living abroad. I picked up even more valuable teaching skills during my time spent as a Spanish teacher in a private school just outside of Atlanta.
